Nigeria Super Eagles became the first team to qualified for the next stage of AFCON 2019 competition when they outshone their opponent, Guinea yesterday by one goal to none in a tight clash yesterday. A well placed header by Kenneth Omeuro from Moses Simon's cross in the 72nd minutes gave the Eagles the well deserved win against the tenacious boys of Guinea.
The Host nation, Egypt later became the second nation to qualify for the round of 16 after beating Congo Democratic, 2 goals to nil. Goals from Ahmed Elmohamady and Mohamed Salah secured victory for the host country.
Nigeria now has one game to play against Madagascar which of course will not be a do or die moment for them but rather will give chance for the technical crew to give playing times to the players on the bench and does who are yet to kick a ball in the tournament.
